Delete your account

You can delete your NoBuyBox account and backup at any time. Here is how, and exactly what happens.

01Delete your account in the app#

  1. Open NoBuyBox and make sure you are signed in.
  2. Go to the Me tab and tap Account.
  3. Under Data, tap Delete account.
  4. Read the summary and confirm with Delete my account.

You are signed out right away and your account is scheduled for deletion.

02Or ask us by email#

If you no longer have the app or can’t sign in, email nobuybox@monryte.com with the subject “Delete my account”, from the email address you used to sign in (for Sign in with Apple with a hidden address, tell us the relay address or reply from the device where you signed in). If we can’t confirm the account is yours, we will ask for the minimum information needed. We confirm by email once the deletion is scheduled.

03What is deleted, and when#

  • Your account — email address, sign-in method and account ID.
  • Your cloud backup — the copy of your boxes, history, goals and settings.
  • Buddy data — your invites, early-open requests and answers. If you were someone’s buddy, your link to their invite is removed.
  • Push notification tokens linked to your account.

All of this is permanently erased within 30 days of your request: a daily job deletes every account whose deletion date has passed. Data may remain for a short time in our providers’ encrypted backups until they are overwritten in their normal cycle.

04What is not deleted#

  • Boxes on your phone. Deleting your account doesn’t touch the phone. To remove them, use Me → Delete everything on this phone or uninstall the app.
  • Subscriptions. Deleting your account does not cancel a Pro subscription — cancel it in Google Play or in your iPhone’s Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
  • Purchase records kept by Google Play or the App Store, and the records we must keep for tax and accounting law.
  • Anonymous usage events and crash reports, which use a random install ID that is not linked to your account; they are deleted on their normal schedule (see the Privacy Policy).
  • Emails you sent us, kept up to 3 years after the conversation ends.

05Delete some data without deleting your account#

  • Me → Delete everything on this phone removes boxes, history, goals and settings from the phone and keeps your backup.
  • Me → Terms & Privacy → Anonymous usage events stops usage events and crash reports.
  • For anything else — for example deleting only your backup — email nobuybox@monryte.com.
